We currently can’t install air-conditioning units, but we’re more than happy to recommend a local reputable air-conditioner installer to take care of final installation once we’ve installed the necessary wiring.

Smoke alarms:

Regulations surrounding smoke alarm systems has changed over the years and now all homes being “substantially renovated” from 2017 are required to meet the new regulations. Substantial renovations include renovations done under a development application permit or renovations affecting more than 50% of the dwelling size.

The new standards require that smoke alarms must:

• Be photoelectric
• Interconnect with other smoke alarms in the house
• Be in every bedroom and hallway, with at least one on every storey
• Not contain ionisation sensors

Please note that even your renovations don’t amount to a substantial renovation, it may still pay to bring your home to the new standards. These standards will apply for all homes being sold or leased from 2022 and for all homes entirely from 2027.
